Family Photo Scavenger Hunt

Grab a camera or phone and stop by the Haggerty Education Center for this month’s nature Photo Scavenger Hunt. Take a photo of every item and get a prize. Theme and prizes change monthly. Enjoy a great way to get the family outdoors year-round.

Breakfast with a Kimodo Dragon
Saturday, January 21 & Sunday, January 22, 8:30 am – 10 am
Enjoy breakfast this morning with the Turtle Back Zoo’s Komodo Dragon. Families will get to meet the zookeepers who take care of these animals – the largest lizards on earth – and learn about efforts to conserve them in the wild. The program will take place in the Mount Building and the Reptile House.

Admission to the zoo for the day (for non-Zoological Society members)

Buttermilk Falls Hike
India Brook Park, Mendham
Sunday, January 22, 1 – 3 pm
Don’t be left out in the cold this January, join GSWA education associate Dan Ross as he leads a winter hike through Buttermilk Falls Natural Area in Mendham. You will get a chance to check out the remnants of what was once the Mendham Water Company, and abandoned relics from the area’s iron ore mining past. Along the way we will also keep our eyes peeled for woodland creatures prepping for the long cold months ahead! Registration required.
